Shreveport, LA – State Representative Steven Jackson today welcomed Amazon’s announcement of a $12 billion investment to develop data center campuses across Caddo and Bossier Parishes, calling the project a transformational opportunity for economic growth and innovation in Northwest Louisiana.

“This historic investment positions our region at the center of the growing digital and technology economy,” said Rep. Jackson. “As this project moves forward, it is critical that we align education, workforce training, and community resources to ensure our residents are prepared to compete for the high quality jobs being created.”

Jackson emphasized that investments of this scale must also create meaningful opportunities for local contractors, small businesses, and entrepreneurs across the region. He noted that expanding participation in construction, logistics, support services, and supply chains will help ensure the economic impact reaches communities throughout Northwest Louisiana.

“In addition to workforce development, we must continue strengthening healthcare access and regional infrastructure to support long term growth,” Jackson said. “When economic development is connected to education, healthcare, and small business opportunity, we create lasting benefits for families and build a stronger future for our entire region.”
