Today Commissioner Jackson joined Governor John Bel Edwards, fellow Caddo Commissioners, and other regional leaders to welcome SLB Manufacturing to Caddo Parish.
"I am absolutely delighted to welcome SLB Manufacturing and 600 high paying jobs to Caddo Parish," Commissioner Jackson said. It great news for the region and a sign that we remain the capital Ark-La-Tex region for job, quality of life, and education. I welcome this new investment, particularly as it brings high quality jobs and repurpose an existing facility in Northwest La."
To secure the project in Shreveport, the state of Louisiana offered SLB a competitive incentives package that includes the comprehensive workforce development solutions of LED FastStart and a $4.5 million performance-based grant for building and infrastructure improvements upon meeting investment and employment targets. The company is expected to participate in the state’s Quality Jobs program.
This win was made possible by the collaborative efforts of many groups and individuals,” North Louisiana Economic Partnership President and CEO Justyn Dixon said. “There has been a substantial shift in recent years for our community to work together and leverage the assets of north Louisiana, with Shreveport Business Park being a significant one. SLB, an incredible company, has acknowledged these efforts with their commitment to bring quality, well-paying manufacturing jobs to the area.”
Next month the Caddo Commission will meet for a to authorize a a budget amendment that will provide a local incentive package to partner with Louisiana Economic Development incentives. I was pleased the Commission agreed this morning to an amendment that adopts a Caddo First initiative. In this initiative SLB will prioritize hiring Caddo Parish residents, doing business with Caddo Parish businesses, and partnering with Southern University-Shreveport for workforce development.
