It is with broken hearts that my siblings and family members publicly announce the passing of our mother, sister, and grandmother, Patricia Blaze-Jackson (Pat). A believer in God's greatest commandment to love one another, she lived her life full of compassion for all she came in contact with.

Our mother’s life was defined by her 43 years of work as a para-professional/office clerk in the Caddo Parish Public School System. Her four decades of commitment to children has made her the mother of many who walked the halls of Ingersoll Elementary and most recently Queensboro Elementary. As a faithful band booster President and PTA member, this afforded her the opportunity to steer many children to get involved in extracurricular activities and stay out of trouble. She also enjoyed working as a poll commissioner during elections with her friends James and Patricia Flurry. The mention of her friend James could bring a quick grin to her face.

Our fondest memories of our mother (Momma) was her energy in supporting us to be the best at whatever life endeavored for us. Whether it was the sound of her keys ringing during a track & field competition, her dancing from the sounds of band music, her smiling face at the end of a dance recital, her words of advice during a campaign, her one person amen corner during a sermon, or simply going over site words at night with her (Ladybug) Miss Zandria Lott (granddaughter). Our mother was our biggest supporter.  Her life is a testament to women who find themselves in the difficult situation of being a single mother. Her spirit will live through our service and compassion to one another.  Like most mothers, she naturally worried, but she never feared. Instead she chose to trust in the Lord with all her heart.

We thank everyone who has reached out with prayers and words of comfort. We continue to ask for your prayers to get us through as well as privacy. We will miss her dearly but we know she would tell us,“Everything will be alright after a while.”  The tentative schedule for her Celebration of Life is as follows:
